TIME

Time. When I think of time, I always feel like I don't have enough of it. Work that seems to constantly keep me having quality time with my husband or kids. Constant cleaning or fixing something, the never ending laundry, cooking, dishes, paying bills, I could go on! On top of that, there is NEVER enough time for me!

On the other hand, I act as if I have a ton of time left and live my life as though I am going to live forever! I pass up time with my family to try to get one more project complete. I find myself telling my kids, "I'm busy right now - ask me later!" "Yes, I will play a game with you, or watch a movie, but it will have to be tomorrow - I have a deadline to finish this project."

Do you ever find yourself doing that? Felling like we never have enough time, but acting like we have an abundance?

About a week ago I heard that my Uncle is dying. I don't know all of the details of his health, but what I do know is very grim. He has been a smoker since his youth. For years he has been on oxygen - yet he still smokes. Now he sits all day long, legs folded indian style on his bed, hunched over, because it is the only way that he can breathe. The thought of him like this makes me so sad.

I don't know him real well, but I know that he has had a really rough life. I think back to the few times that I have been able to chat with him. He has always seen interested in hearing what I had to say. Yet, here I sit, knowing that his end is near and I never took the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with him. Was I worried that I was going to be looked at as a JESUS FREAK, or a Bible Thumper? Did I think that He wouldn't listen, or get mad at God because of his situation? I don't know what reasons I told myself. But one thing I know for sure - when I stand face to face in front of Jesus, I don't want him being disappointed in me for not taking the opportunity. I want to know that I did everything that I could to make sure I get to see him again someday! I want to know that he has the opportunity to find TRUE PEACE.

Matthew 10:32 says, "Whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will acknowledge him before My Father in heaven. But whoever disowns Me before men, I will disown him before My Father in heaven."

We owe it to our friends and family to tell them the truth. They have a right to know!
You may not be called to be a preacher, but we are all called to do what Jesus commanded us.
Matt. 28:19 says, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Cheryl's paraphrase - teach others about Jesus and that they too are to obey everying Jesus commanded - so, go and tell others to do the same. We ALL need to tell others about Jesus. It isn't someone elses responsiblity - it is ours!
Is there anyone that God is prompting you to call, like He prompted me to call my uncle.
Do it now. Don't waste another minute. There may not be another moment! We never know when we, our friends, or loved one will be OUT of TIME!
Here is a website that you can send others to or even look to yourself to help if you don't know how to share with others. http://www.billygraham.org/SH_StepsToPeace.asp
Please pray for my uncle - and your loved ones - for an opportunity to tell them about Jesus and that our words would not return void and that they will find hope, comfort and TRUE Peace in our Lord Jesus!
Blessings, Cheryl

God Still Heals

It was my 2nd year in Jr. High. Our PE class was outside working on track and field skills. All I had left was the Long Jump.
Even though I wasn’t the worst one in the class, I waited until everyone had gone in hopes the period would end so I could avoid having to jump and hear the horrific laughter that always seemed to follow.
Finally, the bell rang! As I began to leave, my teacher called and told me there was still time and I needed to jump. Not thrilled, but relieved that most of the kids had left, I took my position at the start of the track.
I ran as fast as my little legs would carry me to the end and took my dramatic leap. With feet and arms flailing, I flew through the air for what seemed like forever! As my feet landed on the sand, they slid forward and out from under me, slamming my backside to the ground with such force it knocked the air out of me. It must have looked hilarious. I would have laughed myself if it hadn’t hurt so badly. For quite some time, I was unable to move. I had never felt such pain in my entire life. The impact to the ground had broken my tailbone.
Since then, I can’t remember a time I didn’t experience some back pain. I’ve had difficulty sitting in chairs for more than a couple of hours at a time, making many jobs I had painful.
When pregnant with Nathaniel, my labor was induced due to excruciating back pain. At 4 months pregnant with Naomi, I needed a physical therapist - also due to back pain. A couple of years ago, I began to see a NUCCA chiropractor who started the care for my much neglected back. I’ve injured my back several times through the years, and had to receive treatments in order to relieve my pain.
For months after having Natalie, I had to have others pick her up and hand her to me because I was unable to lift her. I haven't been able to go on walks with my family or participate in other activities that I used to enjoy. I have prayed for healing for years, but only received relief through chiropractic treatments.
In July of this year, we were itinerating at New Life Fellowship in Thayne, Wyoming. Before communion, Pastor Shawn Gothard asked for testimonies. A woman shared how God healed her husband's back so he wouldn’t miss work. At that moment I said, “Lord, I believe you are going to heal my back today!” About 10 minutes later, during worship, I noticed that my back didn’t hurt. I sat down, stood up, sat down, and stood up again. (It’s a good thing I was in the back of the sanctuary!) Still, no pain. At the end of the service, I shared (a little fearfully I must admit) with the congregation that I believed God had healed my back. (I was worried it was premature.)

Today, more than a month later, I still have no pain and enjoy many activities including picking up Natalie on my own. Thank you Jesus!

Why didn’t God heal my back years earlier? Did I do something different than I had in the past?
I did nothing different other than proclaim my belief that God was going to heal me that day. I don’t know why He didn’t heal me before. What I do know is that Our God heals - and that He does it when He is ready. The only responsibility I have is to ask and believe!

Here are some scriptures to think about:
1Chron. 5:20b “He answered their prayers because they trusted in Him.”
John 15:7 “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given you.”
1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”
James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.”
1John 5:14-15 “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: if we ask anything according to his will…”
Others scriptures you can look up:
Jer. 33:6b
Psalm 66:18
Luke 8:48
Luke 18:42

Do you have something that you have been asking God to heal for many years? Don’t give up! He may heal you TODAY!

Here's Mud in Your Eye

Read John 9:1–23

Jesus spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes (John 9:6).

Bible commentators suggest different reasons Jesus used dirt and saliva in this blind man’s healing. Regardless of any intended symbolism, one fact remains—the process of healing involved some elements that would be less than desirable in and of themselves.

Jesus did not explain to the blind man how using dirt and spit would contribute to the miracle of his healing. He just applied the mud, told the man to wash his eyes, and healed him in response to his obedience.

Situations that God uses in your life may be like that mud. You have no idea why those elements are part of your life experience. You pray about them, but God offers no explanation. The test of your faith is, will you continue doing what you sense God wants you to do in spite of those circumstances?

Trust God. Your obedience can make all the difference as He continues to unfold His perfect plan for you. Look beyond your current circumstances, believing that God is always at work in your life.

Welcome to Team Possible

Welcome Natalie Grace to Team Possible!

Born 3/7/07 @ 8:34 pm. Weighing in at a whopping 5 lbs. 15 oz. 18.2 inches (She was 4 weeks early)

Please pray for Natalie's health as she lost almost 10% of her body weight in 3 days (down to 5 lb. 6 oz.) while in the hospital and had a touch of jaundice. She was having difficulty staying awake during feedings which caused her weight to go backwards instead of forwards. Since coming home, she has gained almost all of her weight back and doesn't have jaundice. She is still having difficulty staying awake during feedings, but is doing much better.
Cheryl is exhausted, as Natalie feeds every 2-3 hours and because Natalie falls asleep so often, it takes almost an hour to feed her each time she eats, so Cheryl is incredibly sleep deprived. Although tired - Cheryl still feels incredibly blessed and knows that adding this precious little one to our family was the right decision. We are truly blessed!!!!

Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes!

Lots of Love,

The Scott Family

31 WEEKS ALONG

9 Weeks to go!!!

Our baby's lungs and digestive tract are almost fully developed. While she may soon slow up growing in length, (she measures about 15.7 inches/ 40 centimetres from crown to toe by now), and will continue to gain weight until she's born. This week the baby continues to open and shut her eyes. She can probably see what's going on in utero, distinguish light from dark and even track a light source. Some researchers think baring your stomach to light stimulates visual development. Newborns can see a distance of only about 8 to 12 inches/ 20 to 30 centimetres. (Children with normal vision don't reach 20/20 vision until about age 7 to 9.) To complete the picture, our baby now has eyebrows and eyelashes.

Cheryl is doing very well. She went 2 months without vertigo. Recently she has had 3 or 4 occurances, but none have kept her from being able to accomplish day to day tasks. Praise GOD! The baby is moving quite often and the whole family loves to come and watch & feel all the activity.

Some other good news, if you didn't know, Cheryl broke her tail bone when she was in Jr. High School and has had to endure many years of back pain (at times severe) - expecially during pregnancy. Cheryl has been actively going to a NUCCA chiropractor (Lakewoods Chiropractic in Forest Lake) and for the first time hasn't had to endure excruciating back pain during pregnancy! Praise GOD - and Thanks Dr. Jose'.

With 9 weeks to go, we ask that you would continue to keep Cheryl and the baby in your prayers for safety in travels, health, vertigo AND patience!!! :)

Love you all,
The Scott's
